A dedicated interface for every iPhone, iPad and Mac

Reach Desktop puts your Mac's real screen in your hand, and it lays that screen out for the exact device you are holding. An iPad Pro 13-inch works like a remote MacBook with a keyboard deck. An iPad mini keeps the Mac full size with a slim control rail along its edge. An iPhone 18 Pro Max and an iPhone 17e each get the Mac reshaped to their own screen. Find yours below.

Updated Tuesday, October 6, 2026 · Requires iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 or later on the device you hold, and an Apple Silicon Mac on macOS 15 or later to reach.

How Reach fits itself to your screen

The Mac reshapes to you

Phone Shape asks the Mac to resize the app you are focused on to the aspect ratio of the screen in your hand, portrait or landscape, so a 6.1-inch iPhone gets a window built for 6.1 inches, edge to edge.

Controls live off the picture

Every current MacBook panel is about 1.54:1 (Air 13-inch 2560x1664, Pro 16-inch 3456x2234). An iPad is close to 4:3. Reach measures the space that difference leaves on your iPad and puts the controls there, so they sit beside your Mac's screen, not on it.

The keys iPadOS keeps for itself

On iPad, Reach adds virtual keys for the Mac shortcuts a touchscreen cannot send: Command-Tab, Mission Control, Spotlight, Show Desktop, Screenshot, Right Click and Clipboard, each sending the Mac's own chord.

Rotate and it reflows

Turn the device and the Mac is redrawn at the new shape at once, with zoom reset to the fitted view, on every iPhone and iPad.

iPhone

Every iPhone gets the full Mac edge to edge, with controls folded into the corners until you call them, and Phone Shape matching the Mac's window to that iPhone's own screen.

6.9-inch iPhone: iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro Max

The largest iPhone canvas (440 by 956 points on the iPhone 18 Pro Max). In landscape it is wide enough to read a full Mac desktop; in portrait, Phone Shape turns a Mac app into a tall phone-shaped window.

6.7-inch iPhone: iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro Max

The same full-size layout as the Pro Max, with the Mac window shaped to the 6.7-inch screen.

6.5-inch iPhone: iPhone Air

A layout for the iPhone Air's tall 6.5-inch screen: Phone Shape uses its exact proportions, so a Mac app fills it without letterboxing.

6.3-inch iPhone: iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17, iPhone 16 Pro

Built for one-handed use: the corner controls sit within thumb reach, and pinch-to-zoom asks the Mac for sharper pixels of the region you zoom into, so small text stays readable.

6.1-inch iPhone: iPhone 17e, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro

The compact layout: the Mac's window is reshaped to the 6.1-inch screen, and voice dictation types into any Mac field so you write full paragraphs without thumbing them.

Foldable: iPhone Duo (5.4-inch cover, 7.6-inch inner)

Folded, the cover screen gets the iPhone layout. Unfolded, the 7.6-inch inner screen gets the iPad mini layout. Open or close it mid-session and Reach redraws for the screen you are using.

iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max · iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max · iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max · iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max · iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation) · iPhone XS, XS Max, XR

Each runs Reach with the Mac shaped to its own screen, from the 4.7-inch iPhone SE to the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini and up.

iPad

The iPad layouts follow one rule: on the 13-inch and 11-inch iPads, controls go in the space the Mac's picture leaves and cover none of your Mac's screen. On the iPad mini, the Mac fills the screen and the controls run as a slim rail along the right edge.

iPad Pro 13-inch (M5, M4) and iPad Air 13-inch (M4, M3, M2)

A remote MacBook. In landscape (1,376 by 1,032 points on the iPad Pro 13-inch), a MacBook-shaped picture leaves about 138 points of space, the same place a laptop's keyboard sits. Reach turns that space into a deck: the full Mac control ribbon, and below it a row of labeled virtual Mac keys, with the whole Mac screen visible above it.

iPad Pro 11-inch (M5, M4) and iPad Air 11-inch (M4, M3, M2)

The same remote-MacBook interface, slimmed for 11 inches. In landscape (1,180 by 820 points on the iPad Air 11-inch) the space is about 54 points, so the deck becomes one slim function row of Mac keycaps between the two corner buttons, clear of the Mac's screen.

iPad 11-inch (A16) and iPad 10.9-inch (10th generation)

The 11-inch layout, sized to this iPad's 1,180 by 820 point screen, with the slim deck and the virtual Mac keys.

iPad mini 8.3-inch (A17 Pro) and iPad mini (6th generation)

In landscape a MacBook picture fills the iPad mini almost exactly (about 8 points to spare), so the Mac takes the whole screen. The Mac control ribbon stands upright as a slim rail along the right edge, and two corner buttons hold everything else.

Each one gets the layout for its screen class: 12.9-inch and 13-inch iPads get the full keyboard deck, 10.5-inch to 11-inch iPads get the slim deck, and 7.9-inch to 8.3-inch iPads get the side-rail layout.

Mac

Reach is built around the Mac you are reaching, and it runs on a Mac you are reaching from.

The Mac you reach

MacBook Air 13-inch and 15-inch · MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch · MacBook Neo · iMac · Mac mini · Mac Studio · any Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) on macOS 15 or later

Every layout above is drawn from the measured shape of a 13-inch to 16-inch MacBook screen, so a MacBook Air 13-inch or a MacBook Pro 16-inch lands on your iPad as a full MacBook, keyboard deck and all. A desktop Mac on a Studio Display or any other monitor streams each of its displays.

The Mac you reach from

MacBook Neo · MacBook Air 13-inch and 15-inch · MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch · iMac · Mac mini, Mac Studio or Mac Pro with a Studio Display, Studio Display XDR, Pro Display XDR or any monitor

Each Mac you reach opens in its own window. Reach remembers that window's size and whether you ran it full screen, per Mac, and asks for exactly the pixels your window needs at your display's Retina scale, so a 14-inch MacBook Pro and a 27-inch Studio Display each get a picture sized to them.

Android, Windows and anything with a browser

Android phones, Android tablets and Windows PCs reach the same Mac through the browser viewer, with touch control using the same gestures as the app.
